Ammonium vanadium oxide is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis, and as an analytical reagent in laboratories. It is employed in the preparation of vanadate. It acts as a sensor for the determination of N-acetyltransferase activity in humans. Further, it finds use in dyes, varnishes, indelible inks, drier for paints, and in photography. With copper carbonate, it has been shown to enhance the catalytic activities. It is an environmental-friendly catalyst to prepare alfa-hydroxyphosphonate derivatives in high yield through the reaction of aryl/heteroaryl aldehydes with triethylphosphonate derivatives.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. The original Alfa Aesar product / item code or SKU reference has not changed as a part of the brand transition to Thermo Scientific Chemicals.
