Isolate, cultivate and /or carry out susceptibility testing of a wide variety of anaerobic organisms from clinical samples with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ Anaerobe Blood Agar (Wilkins Chalgren) with Neomycin. The addition of Neomycin- an aminoglycoside antibiotic inhibits the growth of most of the facultative Gram-negative anaerobic bacteria while allowing the growth of many other anaerobic bacteria. Anaerobe Blood Agar (Wilkins Chalgren) with Neomycin is a modification of the medium described by Wilkins and Chalgren¹.

Use Anaerobe Blood Agar with Neomycin for the isolation of general anaerobes from clinical samples and for antimicrobial susceptibility testing of aerobic bacteria using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) procedure.

• Selective for certain anaerobic organisms: the presence of Neomycin, an aminoglycoside antibiotic is bactericidal to many Gram negative facultative anaerobes and some staphylococci. This is added to the medium to inhibit accompanying flora.
• Ready-to-use convenience of prepared media.
