Description
Sulfuric acid has a strong dehydrating agent and is applied in many applications like the domestic acidic drain cleaner, electrolyte in lead-acid batteries and in various other cleansing agents. It is also useful for mineral processing, fertilizer manufacturing, petroleum purification, wastewater processing, and chemical synthesis. The catalytic decomposition of sulfuric acid when mixed with Cr/Fe oxides, shows a useful application in the sulfur iodine cycle for hydrogen production.
