Cold Finger Condensers

Cold Finger Condensers

Cold finger condensers are a type of cold trap that generates a localized cold surface for the purposes of sublimation or for reflux and distillation operations. Cold finger condensers used in rotary evaporators can typically be cooled to a lower temperature than water condensers, reducing the amount of volatile material exhausted into the air. Cold finger condensers cool vapors emitted from heated fluids, changing their physical state back to liquid through use of a straight, coiled or spiraled circulation method. The top and bottom joints of cold finger condensers are standard sizes, allowing them to fit correctly in most testing apparatuses. Cold finger condensers typically have an inner joint and sealed lower drip tip for drop control.
